FAQ

My catering manager or facility coordinator says she/he will help me and that an outside person is not necessary.

Usually, the facility coordinator is there to make sure that the facility is unlocked for the various engaged vendors, that lights are turned on, that the building temperature is comfortable, and other involving the building. The catering manager’s responsibility is to make sure the correct food is being served, ensure the banquet staff are performing their duties. The planner is responsible for checking that all the vendors have delivered what was specified in the contracts, overseeing all the décor, managing the timetable for wedding traditions (as well as the full days schedule), taking care of family emergencies, and ensuring that you or your family not working, but rather enjoying their guests and the celebration.

how can I be sure that the planner will listen to what i want?

This is your event! Our first goal is to find out what you are picturing. Then we help to create a comprehensive plan to implement your vision. Our primary objective is to be an advisor full of ideas and options; we don't make the decisions, unless we are directed or needed to.

how do i know exactly what is included in the packages?

That is answered for you during our consolations, and also depends on what you are needing done. Adding or subtracting things from packages will change the prices.

what if I don't need a planner and i just need decor set up?

That can be arranged very easily. If you are needed to rent, we have a large selection of event decor that we rent out.

Or if you want someone setting up your DIY or purchased decor, we can, or we will find someone to acquire the decor as well as set up, we can do that as well.

That way you don't have to have a family member do it as a favor.

FAQ

We don’t live in the area/State and will be planning from out of town – is that okay?

Definitely! If you are from out of town, with a Texas-based planners, you will benefit from our local experience, knowledge. We often work with out-of-town clients traveling from both across the country and abroad. We have successfully planned events all over – as well as out-of-state – via email, phone, and video chat with limited or no in-person meetings.

What about destination events, can you plan events in other places?

Sure! In this case, no we don't necessarily have as much local knowledge, but that doesn't mean we don't know how to do the same thing we do here, in other places. Or that we don't have connections. It just changes the dynamic a little bit, for example we have to do more research or legwork, instead of knowing the best venue, or place to dine off the top of our heads. The same planning, details, vendor contracts, coordination, and timelines apply here.

What should I expect to pay for planning services?

The reason most Planner/Coordinators need to meet with their client before quoting a package price is to determine the size and complexity of the event. (It's not going to cost the same, if you need everything done, as appose to just a little.) Some clients work full time, or live out of town, where as some clients can devote all of their time, and just need advice or an extra set of hands.

It is difficult to give an exact quote until knowing everything involved, and the whole situation. You might not realize everything that is required, for example; if the venue has set up all the place settings, and chairs, and tables, you don't need the Planner to do so. But if another person is not setting that up, then the Planner has to, and they will need an extra assistant or two to make sure everything is ready in time.

Be careful. Someone quoting you a low a price probably does not have the experience that you need. If you intend to hire a day of coordinator, you need a MORE experienced individual who, knows how to handle all of the possible situations that may occur, since they are involved only at the last minute.

Remember, like many other things in life, you get what you pay for, and hiring a planner is no different.

Firework Event Planning will work with you to fit your budget and your needs, it depends on whether it is a smaller, less elaborate event, or a very grandiose one. Once hired we also do our best to save you money whenever possible, and stay within your budget.

FAQ

How much will you be involved in the planning process?

This depends on how involved you want our planners to be in the process and the level of service you choose. For example, a full-service package, in which we are on hand to help you every step of the way, with unlimited meetings and phone calls/emails. Partial is very involved on the day, but helps with the parts that have been decided on, not the whole process.

How involved will you be on the day of?

We are deeply involved in the day from the start of the rehearsal the day before, until after the last guests leaves. We coordinate before hand so that everyone is on the same page on the big day, we ensure that vendors arrive and set up on time, oversee the execution and choreography of the ceremony, manage the timeline of events and vendors during the reception and supervise the cleanup afterwards.

For a wedding Will a “day of” wedding coordinator be enough?

For some weddings, it is possible to have a “day of” coordinator only. Day of coordinators arrive on the day to implement your plans. In our experience, this type of package works only when the person who has planned the wedding is extremely organized, has an eye for detail, and time for planning.  With Firework Event Planning, we do not believe that your wedding can be properly coordinated without laying some final groundwork prior your wedding day, with calls/emails to vendors, and meeting with you to understanding of how things need to go.

what kind of events do you handle?

Almost any, from large corporate events, or weddings, to bridal showers. Ask us, we can probably do it.

what about decorating?

Yes, we do offer decor options, whether for a holiday party or other specials events, we offer; set up, tear down, rental, and if you don't know what you want, give us your specifications and we'll create something imaginative for you.
